Irregularly shaped stone ranging from 3 to 15 square feet in area and thickness ranging from +/- 2-1/2" to 4-1/2".
Several names including silica stone, sandstone, St-Chrysostome or Hemmingford.
The most famous natural stone in Quebec among landscapers, architects and masons.
Sandstone is a detrital rock, resulting from the aggregation and cementing of sand grains.
It is therefore a coherent and hard rock.
It is found in different colors depending on the presence of iron oxide depending on the quarry or the course of extraction.
Easy to work, it can be cut, sawed or guillotined.
It is strongly advised not to put salt (calcium) on the stones because they will disintegrate.
