The founder, Mr. Martial Martin, originally from Abitibi, left his native land to settle in Montreal in 1976.

His schedule was very busy as he was a hydraulic excavator operator and was involved in a real estate project. He had the opportunity to participate in the major works at the Olympic Stadium in Montreal.

Master in the art of operating heavy machinery, Mr. Martin, is realizing his greatest dream. He started his own excavation company in June 1987. In the beginning, the company was based at the family residence with only a backhoe as equipment. Mr. Martin focused solely on earthmoving and commercial snow removal.

He had to work 7 days a week because he had to do the mechanics and welding himself on his equipment. As for accounting, Mrs. Jacinthe Martin, his wife, was of great help to him.

Over the years, with the growth in the construction industry, other services and equipment were added to the company's growth.

In 1993, it was a big move because Mr. Martin invested in an establishment that was better adapted to the company's economic needs. Martial Excavation Inc. therefore covers all sectors, whether residential, commercial, industrial, institutional or municipal.

In April 1999, the retail sale of landscaping products was officially opened. Mr. Martin wanted to expand his field of experience, thus offering a wide range of choices to both individuals and industry professionals.

The company expands by acquiring land made available to it in order to better organize all its equipment and the storage of its inventory. Today, the distribution centre has more than 355,000 square feet of land. Martial Excavation Inc. is one of the largest distributors in Quebec.
