Made of acrylic and plasticizers, WCS Protector for Wet-Cast Pavers is specially formulated for the treatment of wetcast concrete products*. It prevents deterioration due to chemical products such as de-icing salts, while providing resistance to acids and alkalis. Its microporous and transparent film stops the penetration of contaminants, facilitating the maintenance of wet-cast pavers or slabs.

PACKAGING
Size : 3.78 liters - 18.93 liters

BEFORE YOU BEGIN
• Do not apply to natural stone as well as stamped or poured concrete. • Apply only to bare material* or to material previously sealed with this product. Wait until the Protector is worn to recoat the surface (minimum 2 years). • With the appropriate Techniseal® stripper, remove any unknown coating that was previously applied. • Wear adequate protective clothing and an approved respirator. • ALWAYS TEST on a small hidden area of approximately 0.4 m2 (4 sq. ft.) to ensure that result meets your expectations (see Warranty).

*ABSORPTION TEST : Sprinkle a few drops of water on surface. If water is absorbed, move on to the next point. If water is repelled, do not apply this product and contact Techniseal® Technical Service.

SURFACE PREPARATION (ESSENTIAL)
1.Some wet-cast pavers are very sensitive to cleaning products; ALWAYS TEST on a small area to ensure pavers are compatible with cleaner.
2.Cover vegetation, vehicles and adjacent surfaces that are not to be treated.
3.Remove stains with the appropriate Techniseal® stain removers.
4.Prepare the entire surface with Techniseal® Wet-Cast Paver Prep, as directed on product label.

APPLICATION

Application Conditions :
• Surface must be clean, dry and warm to the touch.
• Temperature must be between 10°C and 30°C.
• No rain forecasted for the next 24 hours.
• Sprinkler system must be turned off.
• Use a consistent application method over entire surface.

Necessary Tools :

• 10 or 12 mm polyester nap roller and metal paint tray
• Low-pressure acetone-resistant airless sprayer (< 50 psi) or acetone-resistant pump sprayer (optional)

Do not dilute. Shake well or stir product before and during application.

Sprayer Application (Best Practice) :
Work in sections of no more than 4.6 m2 (50 sq. ft.) Saturate a section with a coat of Protector. With the roller, immediately remove excess on the surface before it dries. Repeat for subsequent sections, maintaining a wet edge in order to prevent overlap marks.

Roller Application :
(Warning: since product dries extremely fast, always work in very small sections and in cool conditions). Saturate the surface with a coat of Protector, avoiding accumulation of excess product. With the roller, immediately remove excess on the surface before it dries. Maintain a wet edge in order to prevent overlap marks.

Second coat (for a glossier finish) :
Once surface is dry to the touch (+/- 2 hours), apply a second coat following the same method. Do not apply a second coat to non-porous pavers as this will result in a slippery surface.

Traffic :
Pedestrian: 24 h. / Vehicular: 48 to 72 h. Block access during that period.

CAUTION

• This product will make surface more slippery, especially if two coats are applied or after recoating. If this is a cause for concern, use Surefoot anti-slip grit as directed on product label. • Any new concrete product has the potential to produce efflorescence (whitish salts) on its surface. This Protector, like any film-forming coating, carries a small risk of trapping efflorescence beneath its film. Consult the paver manufacturer or contact Techniseal® at 1 800 465-7325 for more information. • Do not attempt sprayer application on windy days. • Do not apply this product over a blotchy or hazed surface. • An over-accumulation of product could lead to surface whitening. • Extreme climate or heavy traffic could limit product longevity.
